During his primary education, Nicolas's father faced immense financial difficulties and was unable to afford his son's high school fees. Faced with this obstacle, Nicolas made the difficult decision to repeat a year in primary school in the hopes of finding a way to achieve his dreams.

As time passed, the financial burden remained insurmountable, and Nicolas was on the verge of giving up his educational aspirations. However, fate had something extraordinary in store for him. He heard about Rush Schools, an organization dedicated to helping underprivileged children access quality education.

Fuelled by a burning desire to change his life, Nicolas embarked on an incredible journey. He walked over 30 miles to reach the Rush Schools' founders in Kakamega, Kenya. Upon his arrival, he had the privilege of meeting one of the founders, Lucy Amukowa. Her unwavering belief in the potential of children like Nicolas ignited a spark within him.

Lucy's words of encouragement and the support of Rush Schools propelled Nicolas to take a bold step. Inspired by the values of dedication, hard work, and resilience, he became the first student admitted to Rush High School.

Throughout his time at Rush High School, Nicolas not only excelled academically but also demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities. His dedication to his studies, as well as his commitment to helping others, made him a role model for fellow students.

In his final exams, Nicolas achieved a remarkable result, scoring an impressive 'A.' His academic excellence opened doors to a bright future. He pursued a degree in Mining Engineering at the renowned Jomo Kenyatta University, where he continued to excel.

Nicolas's journey came full circle when he graduated as a certified engineer, ranking at the top of his class. His story serves as an inspiration to countless individuals, a testament to what can be achieved with determination, hard work, and the support of organizations like Rush Schools.

Today, Nicolas Busolo stands as a living example of how education and unwavering perseverance can transform a life.
