Free Medical Camps
Brief History
This is a project I am particularly very passionate about. This is because, when I was young, I lived with my grandmother. She fell ill and because we were so poor, I could not afford to take her to the hospital. When she died, I had no idea and spent a whole week with the corpse in the house. By the time help came, her body was infested with maggots and I was mentally scarred. I do not want any person to go through what I did and that is why I am determined to help meet people’s medical needs. Given the poverty levels of the community around us, most people cannot afford to meet their medical needs.
This is why there are prevalent cases of giggers etc. Every year, Rush offers free medical camps to communities within the county. Rush partners with clinics and medics to offer free medical services to people who would normally not afford it. The Rush ambulance is always available to take any patient to a near by hospital, who may be in need of serious medical attention. To ensure that various communities benefit, these medical camps take place in different communities around the county, each year.
Features of the program
Just like all of our programs and initiatives, there are specific features of the project that have been tailored made to meet the unique needs and context of the community being served.
The following are the features of this project.
